This is the best comic book out there

I'm pretty new to comics but lately obsessed enough to know all the major players now and before this. I read a lot of great comics everyday. Only a few have grabbed me so hard that it breaks bones when they end. Watchmen by Alan Moore. Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis. The Criminal series by Ed Brubaker. Now this. Thank God The Sixth Gun is still being made and hopefully has many more volumes to come.
It's funny, but I had the first volume lying around a good half year but didn't pick it up until I heard they might be making a TV series with it like they did Walking Dead. They've been trying apparently and just recently the latest try, I read, was still born.
Reading comics like this is an experience you can't get from TV or the movies. Not from a novel either. It's its own thing, and when it's good, like this sure is, in my opinion, it's the superior art form. If I'm talking the emotional exhilaration and heightened senses and imagination--yeah, I'm sticking with comics. At least like this one.
What makes this so great? The western aspect combined with the extraordinarily supernatural for one. With a dash of horror. But mostly outstanding storytelling. And here the art and story act beautifully as one. That's it.
This is a message to everyone: Get this book and read it. And figure out how to get single issues so you can start the new spin-off series The Sixth Gun: Sons of a Gun. It's just as good and feels integral to what's happening in the main arcs.

The creepiest, most action-packed volume yet.

After a rip-roaring start to the series, Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt's "The Sixth Gun" slowed down in Vols. 2 and 3, exploring moodier, more character-driven stories. But while those tales were plenty creepy and entertaining, readers wondering where the widescreen action of the first volume went will find it here in spades, along with a stronger dose of unnerving horror than the series had previously delivered. As reluctant gunslinger Becky Moncrief and her cursed, sentient pistol hunt for Becky's missing ally Drake Sinclair, Becky travels to a creepy town with an unusually high rate of deformities, and finds herself caught up in a grisly feud over a highly unexpected prize. Meanwhile, Drake's a prisoner in the company of some ruthless former associates, and they're not happy with the circumstances under which Drake left their company. Shootouts, dynamite, underground wonder-lairs, freaks, monsters, and mind-bending mysteries follow. If you've read this far, you're likely already hooked on this splendidly written, beautifully drawn series. Vol. 4 will not disappoint you.

A great book!

This is a story line I've really enjoyed reading. It keeps me intrigued and I'm looking forward to the next issue. its a great mixture of Wild West and Sorcery/Mythology. A good read and great art. The characters are interesting, and seem to be well developed as well as consistent in their actions. No spoilers here, just a favorable comment.
